TELFORD, PA — A global leader in bar code scanning and processing equipment has taken delivery of the Linux version of their flagship image capture product written completely by Cernotics. Designed, built and tested for their proprietary hardware, the Linux version of the system is 30% faster archving images and 300% faster receiving them than the previous Windows version. The image capture program is a real-time processing application used in their bar code capture and decoding system. They chose Cernotics for expertise in C programming, user interface implementation and ability to deliver a robust solution.
Cernotics ported the entire Windows code base over to Linux and added a number of new features. In addtion, every line of code was reviewed for optimization and the main image receiving thread was totally rewritten to improve receive time by 300%. A complete database of received images was added to support future integration with the supplemental image viewing software application.
